Introduction:
The heart is an organ that is prone to the attack of many microorganisms like viruses, bacteria and protozoans and worms. Some of the diseases that are caused by protozoans are toxoplasmosis, American trypanosomiasis, and others. Worms cause a heart disease named Schistosoma, and bacteria cause several diseases. One of them is brucellosis caused by Brucella bacteria. A viral disease that affects heart is yellow fever.
