It will contract at 0°C , expand at 4°C and expand at 6°C .

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

Denser the water be, the lesser volume it would have.

The given temperatures are 0°C , 4°C and 6°C

Increasing the temperature will increase collisions and will make the object hotter because of which particle will intend to expand in it. At 0°C , water exists in co-state with ice. It is much denser at this temperature. Thus, increasing the temperature will not affect it much as the volume will keep decreasing till 4°C and will contract. But, 4°C its volume will be at the lowest, increasing the temperature will increase its less dense volume. Hence, water will expand at 4°C .

Now, at 6°C the water will keep expanding as the temperature is increasing.

Conclusion:

Thus, at 0°C water/ice will contract, at 4°C the water will expand and at 6°C water will keep expanding.
