Introduction: The digestive system of the human comprises several organs and accessory digestive organs that constitute to make the complete gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The GI tract extends from the anterior opening (mouth) and ends in the posterior opening (anus).

Explanation of Solution

Hypothalamus in the brain is responsible for the behavioral regulation of the food intake. The two hypothalamic centers responsible for the generation of signals which guide behavior and also generate sensations of hunger and fullness are feeding center and satiety center. Feeding center is active center for the intake of food, and the satiety center stops the intake of food by suppressing the feeding center. if the feeding center of a center is destroyed, the person cease to eat, whereas if the satiety center is destroyed then the person will become obese due to overeating.
