White light is a combination of all the colors. Example, sunlight.
If an object appears white or colorless, it absorbs no visible light.
If an object appears black, it absorbs all visible lights.
An object appears red if it absorbs all light but reflects the red component.
An object also looks red if it reflects all except green which is the complementary color of red.
Spectroscopy is the best way to determine color change of the complex ion.
