The evolutionary advantages of a fruiting body and also the dispersal of spores in different phyla of fungi.

Introduction:

R.H. Whittaker in 1969 classified fungi in separate group from plants, protists, animals and prokaryotic organisms. The reason behind this was his observation that fungi are the only saprophytic multicellular organisms and considered closest to the animals as multicellular relative. Traditional there are four fungal phyla that are Chytridiomycota, Zygomycota, Basidiomycota and Ascomycota. The other two groups Microsporidia and Glomeromycota that are recently moved to kingdom Fungi.
