Introduction:
Lungs are the chief organs of the respiratory system, which is found in the thoracic region inside the rib cage. The alveoli are air sacs found inside the lungs, which is lined by simple squamous epithelium and is involved in the diffusion of gases. The loading of O2 and unloading of CO2 mainly involves RBCs. Hemoglobin (Hb) is a red pigment found in the RBCs (red blood corpuscles) and predominantly involves in transporting the gases from lungs to tissues and vice versa.
