The energy released is calculated as :

  Q=mL+mcΔT

Here, L is the latent heat of fusion of ice in J/g.

c is the specific heat of water = 4.186 J/g .

Calculation:

Substituting the given values,

  Q=mL+mCΔT

Substitute the values in the above expressions.

  Q=100×334+100×4.186×(300)=33400+12558=45958J
