Introduction:

Gastroenteritis refers to the swelling of the gastrointestinal tract. This infection is due to virus and bacteria. Children are mostly affected by Rotavirus. In adults, Campylobacter and norovirus cause gastroenteritis. Symptoms of gastroenteritis are diarrhea and vomiting. The most common causative agents of gastroenteritis are Salmonella, Shigella, Staphylococcus, Campylobacter jejuni, Escherichia coli, and Yersinia.
