The value for K for the dehydration reaction should be determined.
Concept introduction:
There are some rule for determining the equilibrium constants for the combined reactions.
Equilibrium constant for a reversed reaction is the reciprocal of the one for forward reaction. If a coefficients of a balance equation is multiplied by a factor of n, then the new equilibrium constant should be raised to the power n. If two equilibrium expressions are added, the product of their equilibrium constants will give the equilibrium constant of the overall reaction.
