Summary Introduction
Agrobacterium tumefaciens is the causative agent of crown gall disease in most of the eudicot species. It is a Gram-negative rod shaped bacteria that reside in the soil. This bacterium is useful in inserting the gene of interest into a plant cell or plant. An infection in the root of plants by the species of rhizobia in the leguminous plants results in the formation of root nodules.
