Chapter 24, Problem 1CR
Summary Introduction
To review:
The importance of ozone layer that surrounds the Earth.
Introduction:
Ozone (O3) is a triatomic gas, which occurs in two layers of the atmosphere. In the troposphere, it acts as a pollutant when the atmospheric oxygen (O2) reacts with the gases released from the automobile exhaust and from industries. The tropospheric ozone causes damage to plants as well as to the animals. But the stratospheric zone of ozone gas plays a protective role from UV radiation.
