Concept Introduction:
The agonists and the antagonists are the molecules, which can bind to the same receptor, where the natural chemical messenger binds. The binding of the agonist produces similar response as the chemical messenger do. The NMDA is an agonist of the glutamic acids, which has a structural similarity with aspartic acid.
