After simplifying, the first step in solving an equation with a variable on sides to get the variable on one side. This is done by reversing the addition or subtraction of one of the terms with the variable. In other words, addition to either the sides or subtraction is form the side, one of the quantities that contain the variable. It is generally easier to add or subtract the smaller quantity form the larger quantity, so working with positive co-efficient but either way works. Once the variable is on one side only, process can be proceeds using inverse operation. But in equation having variable on one side of the equation only inverse operation is required. A step to get the variable on one side is not required in the equation having variable on side. Less number of step is required in both the sides.
