The hydrogen of the C-8 methyl group is more acidic than those of the C-7 methyl group.  This is has to be explained.

NAD+ and NADH are the coenzymes associated with catabolic reactions- biological reactions that break down complex bio molecules in order to provide the cell with energy .  Catabolic reactions are predominately oxidation reaction.  NAD+ is the most common oxidizing agent in cells.

NAD+ and NADPH are the coenzymes associated with Anabolic reactions- biological reactions involved in synthesizing complex bio molecules.  Anabolic reactions are predominantly reduction.  Catabolic reactions are predominately oxidation reaction.  NADPH is the most common reducing agent in cells.

FAD Catalyses oxidation reaction; it is reducing to FADH2
