Summary Introduction
Introduction: The process of filtration takes place in the Bowman’s capsule. The afferent arteriole brings blood to the Bowman’s capsule where the hydrostatic pressure of the blood drives the filtration process.
The filtration of blood produces filtrate containing water, salts, amino acids, glucose and other substances. As the filtrate passes through the renal tubules, it is processed in a stepwise manner to finally produce urine that is highly concentrated.
