LDAP Functionality:

• LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol.
• It refers to the access standards techniques for various database related services.
• Access services for any database refers to client server accessibility for the content of the database.
• The time when any database is created, LDAP server provides each and every required information about the database to the LDAP directory.
• In LDAP directories, the entries are stored with similar object.
• Such entries include special distinguished name consisting of series of distinguished relative names.
• This also provides multi-valued attributes with various built-in types, by default.
• The LDAP contains object classes to specify the attribute names and types.
• Whenever any client wants to connect to the database, information about the server and the database can be retrieved from that LDAP directory.
