To determine :
The lowest blood concentration of nitrogenous waste occurs in the
(a) hepatic vein,
(b) inferior vena cava,
(c) renal artery,
(d) renal vein.
Answer to Problem 1MC
Solution:
(d) Renal vein
Explanation of Solution
There are two renal veins in the urinary system of the humans. These veins carry oxygen-depleted blood containing nitrogen and urea from the kidneys. The hepatic vein transports the deoxygenated blood from the liver to the heart through the inferior vena cava. Inferior vena cava is a large vein that carries deoxygenated blood from body into the right atrium of the heart. The renal artery supplies oxygenated blood to the kidneys.
