Chapter 25, Problem 2CP
Summary Introduction
To compare:
The process of oxidation and reduction.
Introduction:
Our body is made up of simple and complex organic molecules. They are generally splitted either the addition or removal of hydrogen or oxygen for the generation of energy. So the addition of oxygen or removal of hydrogen is called oxidation. In the terms of electrons oxidation is taking of oxygen by any chemical compound.
Reverse to the oxidation is the process of reduction. In reduction there is removal of oxygen or the addition of hydrogen or giving an electron by any chemical specie takes place.
