- What Are the Consequences of Tobacco Smoke in the Environment?arrow_forwardWithin many faith traditions, there is a stigma against mental illness and sudden death from suicide. As we know, access to affordable treatment for mental illness is difficult for many people and accidental suicide from illegal drugs laced with Fentanyl has been on the rise. How can a community help individuals or families cope with the grief of a loved one who died suddenly from either disorder?arrow_forwardYes, I do, although I feel they're lacking in some areas. They don't prevent people who smoke from smoking in personal spaces (car, home, etc.) or with friends, but they do protect people who haven't consented to the risk of secondhand smoke from being exposed to it in public-use indoor spaces, like businesses, schools, and public transportation. It also makes exceptions for the use of smoke in Native American ceremonies. However, since the nicotine found in cigarettes and vapes is highly addictive and can lead to withdrawal symptoms that can interfere with daily life. I do think that more accommodations need to be made for people who smoke to make the law easier to comply with. If they can't smoke inside in public spaces during one of our harsh Minnesota winters, then there should be more sheltered outdoor spaces - possibly with heating, similar to Metro Transit sheltered stops - for people who smoke to go to in order to quell their symptoms. Do you agree or disagree why?arrow_forward
