Chapter 25, Problem 5LTB
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Flowers are the sexual organs of angiosperms. In a flower, both male and female structures are present. The male organ is known as stamen and the female organ is known as carpel. The male gametes are found in the pollen which is produced in a structure called anthers on the stamen. The female gametes are present in structures known as ovules which are produced in one or more chambers called the ovary, on the carpel. Pollen delivered from other flowers collects on a sticky pad on the upper part of a carpel known as stigma.
