Introduction:
EBV is a human herpesvirus type 4. It causes infectious mononucleosis most commonly and is associated with other types of cancer like Burkitt’s lymphoma, gastric lymphoma, and Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In infectious mononucleosis, the number of mononuclear leukocytes increases in blood. It infects both the immune system and epithelial cells.
