The resonance structure for the electrophilic substitution reaction is to be represented.
Concept introduction:
In resonance structures, the delocalized pi electrons consistently move, along the structurein order to stabilize the molecule, however, the number of electrons in the molecule is not effected.
Electrophilic substitution reactions are completed in two steps.
The electrophile forms a sigma-bond to the benzene ring and generates a positively-charged intermediate.
Benzene positivelycharged intermediateis highly attractive for electron deficient species formed due to the delocalization of pi electrons above and below the plane of the ring.
