Question
Chapter 25.4, Problem 4QC
Summary Introduction
To review:
The way through which bicarbonate ions and carbonic acid buffer the plasma.
Introduction:
To maintain the pH (potential of hydrogen) of the blood, there are three different buffer systems that play a significant role. These three buffer systems are the protein buffer system, the phosphate buffer system, and the carbonate (CO32–)-bicarbonate (HCO3–) buffer system.
