Question
Chapter 25.5, Problem 3LO
Summary Introduction
To describe:
The characteristics of cancer cells.
Introduction:
There are certain important differences between the normal and cancer cells. Cancer cells start showing defects in control mechanisms that control their division, and feedback systems that are important in regulating control mechanisms. They grow and divide at an abnormally high rate. Moreover, these cells have abnormal membranes, and are poorly differentiated. They also have abnormal morphology and cytoskeletal proteins. The abnormality in cells can be progressive with a slow transition from normal cells to benign tumors to malignant tumors.
