Concept explainers
To write:
The ways the horticulture oil kill the insects and pests to protect plants.
Introduction :
Oils were being used for centuries for the control of insects and mite pests. There are different kind of oil being used to kill different pests and insects. The oil is sprayed on the fruit trees, woody trees, some vegetable and useful flowers to protect them from pest and insect damage. The using of horticulture oils protects the plants from pests but they also have some adverse effect on humans or some of the other organisms. Therefore, it is necessary to develop oils that have minimal toxicity, have fast evaporation property, and leave fewer residues.
Explanation of Solution
To control the pest problems in field and crops there are many different kinds of oils that are being used for long. Some pests like mites, aphids, etc. only get killed through the spraying of horticulture oil on the fruit trees and woody trees. The horticulture oil kills the insects by block the breathing spiracles of the insects that suffocate them to death. In some insects the horticulture oil also disrupts the
Thehorticulture oil disrupts the air hole of the insects, interfere in the metabolic reactions, and destroy their guts and starve them to death.
