Introduction:

The digestive system includes the organs that are responsible for ingestion of food, mixing, and absorption of the nutrients from the ingested food material. It absorbs the necessary digested nutrients into the blood.

Explanation of Solution

The gastrointestinal (GI) tract is also known as the digestive tract and or alimentary canal. The organs present in the GI tract form a continuous tube. These structures include the oral cavity (mouth), pharynx (throat), esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, anal canal, and ends at the anus.
