Question
Chapter 26, Problem 23RQ
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The primary changes that occur in the composition and concentration of filtrate as a result of activity in the proximal convoluted tubules.
Concept introduction:
The process of filtration begins in the glomerular capsule and is driven by the hydrostatic pressure inside the glomerulus. The filtrate produced in the glomerular capsule is then passed through various structures of nephron where the essential substances are reabsorbed into the peritubular fluid while eliminating the non-essential substances in the urine.
