Question
Chapter 27, Problem 15RFT
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The urethra is a part of the excretory system in both the sexes, but also a part of the reproductive system in the male primates. It is a tube-like structure, which connects the urinary bladder to the external urinary orifice. It carries the urine from the bladder to the urinary meatus in both females and males.

Which of the following statements about the female vestibule is correct? (a) The vaginal orifice is the most anterior of the two orifices in the vestibule. (b) The urethra is between the vaginal orifice and the anus. (c) The anus is between the vaginal orifice and the urethra. (d) The urethral orifice is anterior to the vaginal orifice.
Which of the following structures is not involved in the production of semen? (a) seminal glands, (b) seminiferous tubule, (c) bulbo-urethral glands, (d) prostate gland.
Identify the organ responsible for the following functions.
1.) Where sperms are produced.
2.) Where sperms are temporarily stored.
3.) Supports the testis and epididymis
4.) Where the sperm passes through from the testis before it joins the urethra.
5.) Passageway of both sperm and urine.
6.) Secretes fluid that forms part of the semen; gives the semen its alkaline characteristics to counteract the acidity og the vaginal tract; Contains sugars like fructose
7.) Secretes fluid that also provides alkalinity to the semen; Contains proteilytic enzymes, citric acid, phosphates, and lipids.
8.) Paired goands that produce clear, viscous secretion (pre-ejaculate) that helps to lunricate the urethra for sperm to pass through, neutralizing traces of acidic urine in the urethra, and helps flush out any residual urine or foreign matter.
