Chapter 27.2, Problem 1CYL
Summary Introduction
To describe:
The exponential growth, the conditions under which it occurs and the shape of the curve which it produces.
Introduction:
A population could not indefinitely grow. The resistance of the environment ensures that no natural population will experience exponential growth for a longer duration of time. The environmental resistance consists of the factors which limit the growth of population.

- When tomatoes are fully ripe, they develop bright red skins. William recently built a garden and decided to investigate tomato reproduction. He found that green tomatoes (not fully ripe) have an 18% chance of germinating while red tomatoes (fully ripe) have a 78% chance of germinating. Based on the data provided from the investigation, explain what characteristic(s) contributes to the probability of the tomatoes reproductive success and what factors (genetic or environmental) might impact the growth and development of the tomatoes. Answer should be based on : Claim: includes the idea that characteristic animal behaviors or specialized plant structures affect the probability of successful reproduction. Evidence: supports claim including: -behaviors and/or structures that increase the probability of reproduction -cause and effect relationship between the behavior/structure and the successful reproduction of organisms that have them -plant reproduction and the animal behaviors…arrow_forwardexplain Generalized transduction using diagramarrow_forwardLength of roots (in mm) Number of Length of green leaf (in mm) Number of root growth sprouted green leaf 2 Replicate 1 Replicate 2 Replicate 3 Substance Replicate 1 Replicate 2 Replicate 3 Substance Replicate 1 Replicate 2 Replicate 3 Distilled 5 4 3 water 4 2 2 6 4 4 2 A 6 2 7 3 1 2 B 2 2 1 3 3 13.
