Introduction:
Puberty is the period in which adults attain sexual maturity and become capable of reproduction. This process generally occurs for girls between the ages of 10 to 14 and 12 to 16 for boys. For well-nourished girls in the United States and Europe, puberty starts at the ages of 8 to 10.
