The embryo (the fetus), placenta, and its related membranes are collectively included in or known as the conceptus. The first two weeks of an emerging individual is known as blastocyst. From the day - 16 till 8 weeks, the growing individual is known as embryo. From the week 9 till the completion of the birth, the individual is known as fetus.
