Chapter 29, Problem 1CT
Summary Introduction
To explain:
The penetration of lipid-soluble drugs into the blood-brain barrier and affects other cells.
Introduction:
Cerebrospinal fluid is a clear fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. It is also present in the brain ventricles. The fluid serves as a cushion for the tissues of the spinal cord and brain. The fluid contains water with ions and nutrient molecules. It is rich in glucose and oxygen that are utilized by neurons for aerobic respiration.

Explain structure and function causes of brain damage and neurological disease
A brain tumor, known as an intracranial tumor, is an abnormal mass of tissue in which cells grow and multiply uncontrollably, seemingly unchecked by the mechanisms that control normal cells. Brain tumors also can happen near the brain tissue. Nearby locations include nerves, the pituitary gland, the pineal gland, and the membranes that cover the surface of the brain. If a brain tumor starts in a part of the brain that's less active, it might not cause symptoms right away. The brain tumor size could become quite large before the tumor is detected. Based on the description, please explain the types of brain tumors and the treatment of brain tumor associated with each type of therapy.
The outer membrane that covers the brain is
List all the layers that must be cut through to reach the tumor. During surgery to remove a tumor from the occipital lobe of the left cerebrum, a surgeon must cut into the brain to reach the tumor.
