Concept explainers
To determine: Four unique characteristics associated with human physical activity.
Introduction: The study of human physical activity explores two domains-direct experience of physical activity and subjective experience of physical activity. The direct experience involves training, observation of practice, and personal participation whereas subjective experience involves an individual’s reaction to events, feelings, or other stimuli.
Explanation of Solution
The unique characteristics of human physical activity are as follows:
- Intelligence-based physical activity:
Humans have large brains with high intelligence. The human physical activity starts with much more complicated plans that are directed to important goals. The mental images of the human brain serve as maps and are considered to be dynamic in guiding the movement and performing the simple or major activities physically.
- Aesthetics- and ethics-based physical activity:
Humans are considered as spiritual creatures that have distinctive moral as well as aesthetic senses. The individuals use their movements for expressing their imaginations, aesthetics, and moral reasoning.
- Adaptability and flexibility of physical activity:
The physical activity of humans is attributed to its unique combinations of movements permitted by human anatomy.
- Performance improvement through planned experience:
One of the significant characteristic of humans is their ability to improve the capacity in aspects of physical activity by planned, regular training, and practice. This process happens because humans possess high intelligence power.
Hence, it can be concluded that the unique characteristics of human physical activity involve intelligence-based physical activity, aesthetic and ethics based physical activity, adaptability and flexibility of physical activity, and ability to improve performance through planned experience.
