The results of activity measurements on a radioactive sample are given in the table. First convert the values in the time column into seconds. Using Equation 30.6 as a guide, make a linearized graph of the activity as a function of time. Use a linear “best fit” to the resulting curve to determine (a) the decay constant of the sample, (b) the sample’s half-life, and (c) the number of radioactive nuclei that were present in the sample at t = 0.
