Concept Introduction:

Growth of the plant depends upon the availability of resources like nutrients in the soil which leads to the increase in the height of the plant. This occurs due to the activation of phytochrome and release of growth factors in plants. Defense factor includes the development of resistance of the plant against the invading pathogens or herbivores. The plants secrete chemicals and resistance which decreases their susceptibility to the invading attack by the pathogen or herbivores.
