Introduction:

Special receptors in the sense organs are the ears, eyes, skin, taste buds, and nose. When they are activated, they allow many types of external stimuli to become neural signals in the brain leading to the sensation. The process of conversion of outer stimuli like light into neural activity is termed as transduction.

Sensory receptors are specialized forms of neurons. They provide sensory functions of the nervous system. It contains the information from the body and surroundings. It is further transferred to the central nervous system by sensory nerves.
