Fundamental tenets on Volkswagen Scandal:

Responsibility, accountability and liability are the three fundamental tenets of ethics.

Volkswagen Scandal:

The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) found that many Volkswagen cars had a software or “defeat device” that could change the performance to improve results as they could detect when they are being tested. This was known as the famous “diesel dupe” by Volkswagen.
