Concept explainers
To define:
The terms core reserve and wildlife corridor and their relationship.
Introduction:
The core area is a protected area from human use; it acts as a reference point on the natural state of the ecosystem represented by biosphere reserve. It gives an idea about the sustainability activities or the maintenance of environmental quality in the surrounding areas.
A wildlife corridor is a land linking core area which allows animals to move relatively freely and safely between habitats.
Wildlife corridors and core area are connected because a wildlife corridor allows plants and animal species to migrate from one place to another and core area or reserve is the isolated areas where they can live.
