To compare:
The weather and climate.
Introduction:
Ecosystems on land are grouped into biomes primarily based on plant communities within them. Regardless of wherever a person lives, he or she is affected by weather and climate of the place. Biomes that share the same climate have similar types of communities.
Answer to Problem 4MI
Weather: It is day- to- day condition of the atmosphere at a specific time and place. | Climate: It refers to the average weather conditions in an area including temperature and precipitation. |
Explanation of Solution
Weather: It is day- to- day condition of the atmosphere at a specific time and place. Meteorologists often give forecasts about the upcoming weather. Weather generally combines information about temperature, humidity, precipitation, cloudiness, wind and visibility.
Climate: It refers to the average weather conditions in an area including temperature and precipitation. Earth’s climate is primarily determined by the unequal distribution of solar radiation in different places. These areas are referred as polar, temperate and tropical. Latitude of a place also affects the climate of that place. Other factors affecting climate are elevation, continental landmass, and ocean currents.
A biome is a large group of ecosystems that share same climate and have similar plants and animals that have adapted to a region’s climate.
