Altruistic acts are those which have fitness consequences for two individuals simultaneously. It affects one who performs the behavior or act and another person who benefits from the behavior or act. It can also be defined as a behavior which is costly for the actor and helpful for the receiver. In this case, cost and help are on the basis of the lifetime fitness.
