Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The functional Magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) uses the fact that hemoglobin with oxygen reacts to a magnetic field differently from hemoglobin without oxygen, which is an indicator of the activity of that area of the brain. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) method uses powerful magnetic field to align all the axes of rotation of atoms of odd-numbered atomic weight, and then tilts them with a brief radiofrequency field. When the radiofrequency field is turned off, the atomic nuclei release electromagnetic energy as they relax and return to their original axis. The released energy is measured to form an image of the brain.
