Question
Chapter 3.3, Problem 9R
A.
Summary Introduction
To describe: The process of carrier-mediated transport.
Introduction: Diffusion is a process in which the molecules move from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration. If allowed, it continues until the equilibrium is achieved. Energy is not required for the diffusion. Facilitated diffusion is two types, namely channel mediated diffusion and carrier-mediated diffusion.
B.
Summary Introduction
To determine: The two factors that limit the rate of facilitated diffusion across a plasma membrane.
