The fertilization is the process during which the male gamete fuses with the female gamete and give rise to diploid zygote. The zygote undergoes cleavage and forms different stages. The first stage is the morula, and then blastocyst develops. The blastocyst forms gastrula, which develops into embryo and then fetus, is formed.
