Introduction: The fishes are of two types: cartilaginous and bony. There is also the presence of other fishes like lungfishes. The cartilaginous fishes were adapted for the marine ecosystem and hence, maintain osmolarity with the sea water by having rough skin and cartilaginous endoskeleton. The bony fish can be found in both ecosystems, but are mainly found in the freshwater habitat.
