Question
Chapter 36.1, Problem 2MC
Summary Introduction
To discuss:
Differences between the proximate and ultimate causes of an animal’s behavior.
Concept introduction:
Animal behavior constitutes many fields of research. The biologists from different fields explains a behavior in different ways. A physiologist will explain the behavior in term of glucose mobilization, while a neurobiologist will explain it in terms of action of motor neurons. In the similar way, an evolutionary biologist will explain the behavior in terms of survival advantage or reproductive success.
