Chapter 36.4, Problem 1CC
Summary Introduction
To determine: The reason why lateral roots must be produced in the way shown in the given figure.
Introduction: Roots are very important for plants as they help in the absorption of water and nutrients from the soil, in anchoring the plant and in storing nutrients. Different types of root systems are seen in different plants due to adaptations to the different environment.

Tissues in a carrot root, make a simple sketch and label the tissues. The outermost covering of the cylinder( the skin of the carrot root) is made up of dermal tissue, particularly the periderm. Beneath the periderm is a layer called the cortex which is made up of parenchyma, a type of ground tissue. Underneath the cortex is vascular cylinder which contains the ploem(the outer layer of the cylinder) and the xylem (the central core of the cylinder, the lightly colored part). Between the ploem and the xylem where the vascular cambium is located (a layer that is only one cell thick) a lateral meristematic tissue.
plsssss help me sketch this and label it, thank you.
Show the sequence of secondary growth by drawing the row of cells from the boxed area below and labeling the vascular cambium cell (V), 5 xylem cells from oldest (X1) to youngest (X5), and 3 phloem cells (P1 to P3). Show what happens after growth continues by drawing and labeling a row with twice as many xylem and phloem cells. How does the vascular cambium’s location change?
A pear has a hard texture but juicy. State two cells that give the characteristics?
State the function of the transitional epithelium found in the mammalian urinogenital system.
(i) Identify type of tissue lines the air sacs of the lungs.
(ii) Explain how the tissue named in (i) adapted to its function.
