Cyanide is a very lethal poison and toxic element. It can be fatal to life as in the case of an Illinois man who dies because of cyanide poisoning. Cyanide interferes with the last stage of the cellular respiration. The inhibition of oxidative phosphorylation would occur. This occurs in all the tissues that are affected by cyanide poisoning, thus causing the death of cells and proving it to be fatal for the person.
