Chapter 4, Problem 11A
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Skin forms part of the integumentary system. The skin has sweat or sudorific glands, which secrete salts ions which evaporate from the surface of skin. This mechanism maintains the temperature and homeostasis of the body. The metabolite cholesterol forms vitamin D in the body after the exposure to ultraviolet radiations from the sun. The skin has sebaceous glands which secrete sebum which is an oily substance and protects the skin from the growth of the microorganisms and bacteria.
