Time Calculator
Create an application that lets the user enter a number of seconds and works as follows:
- There are 60 seconds in a minute. If the number of seconds entered by the user is greater than or equal to 60, the
program should display the number of minutes in that many seconds. - There are 3,600 seconds in an hour. If the number of seconds entered by the user is greater than or equal to 3,600, the program should display the number of hours in that many seconds.
- There are 86,400 seconds in a day. If the number of seconds entered by the user is greater than or equal to 86,400, the program should display the number of days in that many seconds.

Magic Dates The date June 10, 1960, is special because when it is written in the following format, the month times the day equals the year: 6/10/60 Create an application that lets the user enter a month (in numeric form), a day, and a two-digit year. The program should then determine whether the month times the day equals the year. If so, it should display a message saying the date is magic. Otherwise, it should display a message saying the date is not magic.
Random Number Guessing Game Create an application that generates a random number in the range of 1 through 100 and asks the user to guess what the number is. If the user’s guess is higher than the random number, the program should display “Too high, try again.” If the user’s guess is lower than the random number, the program should display “Too low, try again.” If the user guesses the number, the application should congratulate the user and then generate a new random number so the game can start over. Optional Enhancement: Enhance the game so it keeps count of the number of guesses that the user makes. When the user correctly guesses the random number, the program should display the number of guesses.

- Account numbers sometimes contain a check digit that is the result of a mathematical calculation. The inclusion of the digit in an account number helps ascertain whether the number is a valid one. Write an application named CheckDigit that asks a user to enter a four-digit account number and determines whether it is a valid number. The number is valid if the fourth digit is the remainder when the number represented by the first three digits of the four-digit number is divided by 7. For example, 7770 is valid, because 0 is the remainder when 777 is divided by 7. The next problems rely on the generation of a random number. You can create a random number that is at least mi n but less than max using the following statements: Random ranNumberCenerator = new Random(); int randomNumber; randomNumber = ranNumberGenerator .Next(min, max);arrow_forwardRetail Price Calculator Create an application that lets the user enter an item’s wholesale cost and its markup percentage. It should then display the item’s retail price. For example: • If an item’s wholesale cost is $5.00 and its markup percentage is 100 percent, then the item’s retail price is $10.00. • If an item’s wholesale cost is $5.00 and its markup percentage is 50 percent, then the item’s retail price is $7.50. The program should have a method named CalculateRetail that receives the wholesale cost and the markup percentage as arguments and returns the retail price of the item.arrow_forward20. - Property Tax If you own real estate in a particular county, the property tax that you owe each year is calculated as 64 cents per $100 of the property’s value. For example, if the property’s value is $10,000, then the property tax is calculated as follows: Tax = $10,000 ÷ 100 × 0.64 Create an application that allows the user to enter a property’s value and displays the sales tax on that property.arrow_forwardText-based adventure game: Pretend you are creating a text-based adventure game. At different points in the game, you want the user to select to fight, run, or hide from certain enemies. Modify the application below (week3.py) so that the selection variable is sent as an argument into the choice() function. The user should enter 1 to fight, 2 to run, or 3 to hide in the main(). The choice() function should print one of the three options. You will need to add an if statement in the choice() function to make the correct selection.arrow_forwardPopulation Tracker Learning Objective: Using Python Repetition and Loop Statements Problem Description Write a Python program (Console and GUI) that predicts the approximate size of a population of organisms. For example, assume the user enters the following values: Starting number of organisms: 2 Average daily increase: 30% Number of days to multiply: 10 The program should display the following table of dataarrow_forward
- Scientists measure an object’s mass in kilograms and its weight in Newtons. If you know the amount of mass of an object, you can calculate its weight, in Newtons, with the following formula: Weight = Mass × 9.8Create an application that lets the user enter an object’s mass and then calculates its weight. If the object weighs more than 1000 Newtons, display a message indicating that it is too heavy. If the object weighs less than 10 Newtons, display a message indicating that it is too light.arrow_forwardFat Percentage Calculator One gram of fat has 9 calories. If you know the number of fat grams in a particular food, you can use the following formula to calculate the number of calories that come from fat in that food: Calories from fat = Fat grams × 9 If you know the food’s total calories, you can use the following formula to calculate the percentage of calories from fat: Percentage of calories from fat = Calories from fat ÷ Total calories Create an application that allows the user to enter: • The total number of calories for a food item • The number of fat grams in that food item The application should calculate and display: • The number of calories from fat • The percentage of calories that come from fat Also, the application’s form should have a CheckBox that the user can check if he or she wants to know whether the food is considered low fat. (If the calories from fat are less than 30% of the total calories of the food, the food is considered low fat.) Create an application that allows the user to enter the amount of time that an object has fallen and then displays the distance that the object fell. The application should have a method named FallingDistance. The FallingDistance method should accept an object’s falling time (in seconds) as an argument. The method should return the distance in meters that the object has fallen during that time interval.arrow_forward
- Retail Price Calculator Create an application that lets the user enter an item's wholesale cost and its markup percentage. It should then display the items retail price. For example: If an item's wholesale cost is $5.00 and its markup percentage is 100 percent, then the item's retail price is $10. If an item's wholesale cost is $5.00 and its markup percentage is 50 percent, then the item's retail price is $7.50. The program should have a method named CalculateRetail that receives the wholesale cost and the markup percentage as arguments and returns the retail price of the item. In addition, there should be the name of the Wholesale Company displayed (be creative). If the cost is over $500, display a $20 discount on the retail price. For example: If an item's wholesale cost is $600.00 and its markup percentage is 100 percent, then the item's retail price is $1,180. ( Markup = $600 * 100% = 600 Retail Price = $600 + $600 - $20 (wholesale cost + markup - discount)arrow_forwardKinetic Energy In physics, an object that is in motion is said to have kinetic energy. The following formula can be used to determine a moving object’s kinetic energy: KE =1/2mv2 In the formula KE is the kinetic energy, m is the object’s mass in kilograms, and v is the object’s velocity in meters per second. Create an application that allows the user to enter an object’s mass and velocity and then displays the object’s kinetic energy.
