Introduction:
Transport through a cell membrane is the movement of ions and molecules. It could be through passive diffusion or active transport. It depends on the charge, size, concentration gradient, and hydrophobicity of the ions or molecules. Osmosis is a phenomenon in which the solvent molecules tend to pass across a semipermeable membrane. It occurs from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one. It can also be written as it is a process that involves the diffusion phenomenon through a semipermeable membrane.
